Unregulated V0.6 | Cargo Shipping Update!


It's here! After a long time of development, constant bugs and finding new ways to optimise levels that are full of dynamic objects. I'm sorry it took so long, however at least it's here! Plus other updates, I hope, shouldn't take as long due to the amount of work put into this one that can allow me to create more! I'm only planning to release at least 3 more stages where I'll either finish the game and release it fully or leave it in development in case other ideas come to mind. It'll most likely be the former.

Changelog

New

  • Sobel Outlines! Adds a thin outline to all objects visible. This will take the scene colour and brighten or darken the outline depending on how bright or dark it is, it will also change it's intensity and saturation to make them pop out a little more.
  • Water! Or.. well the ocean actually. It's just a fancy material, no water sims here.
  • New levels! Cargo ship levels!
    • Boat movement! After every collection time a boat will move to a new random spot on the grid or not. This is signalled through a boat horn as well as the map actually moving! You cannot place any conveyors down during movement.
    • Intersecting point precaution. This will create a box blocker that will stop conveyors from phasing through each other, I hope. Also it will only block conveyors coming in from one side.
      • Side note a sealer will appear on an applicable conveyor that crosses the gap between boats.
      • Conveyors have intersection points as a clipping precaution. As well as sealer points, if they are applicable.
    • New prop! The ships and shipping containers!
    • Ocean ambience!
    • Boat engine noises and boat horn!
  • New conveyors!
    • Splitters! These are basically the reverse of connectors.
    • Sealers! Short and long versions available. They will automatically close when it doesn't detect a conveyor infront of it.
  • Level logos! I wanted to use some extra visual designs alongside the level previews. I think they look nice. They will replace the main logo when you are in the level selection screen.
  • Box model changes! The airport will now show luggage styled boxes and the cargo shipping levels will show wooden crate styled boxes.
  • Conveyor info panels! When hovering over a conveyor build button, it will expand showing the grid space it'll take up as well as a short description.
  • Each level will use CombineMeshes for most conveyors. This will merge conveyor meshes together to help with optimisation.
  • Delivery cart engine sounds, includes idle and revving.

Changes

  • Changed the minimum random box spawner time to 75 seconds. The max is 180.
  • Conveyors have kinematic rigidbodies to allow them to interact with triggers better.
  • Downward conveyor/roller have been moved to better reflect their placement.
  • Chute doors have been changed to a red colour to match barriers.
  • Grid uses alpha clipping to cut away unneeded artifacts.
  • New "no build positions" for conveyors. Checks where the cursor is.
  • Box collisions have been set to "Continuous Dynamic".
  • Box spawner indicator will interact will interact with props.
  • Emergency lights now only have one light and will start in a random rotation.
  • Objects with the "default" and "ground" layers are now included for collision checks when building.
  • Included some extra stuff behind the scenes when changing quality. Such as: higher quality shadow resolutions, more lighting and shadow features, etc.
  • Doubled bubble appearance time. Now you can actually see them!
  • Failing to meet box quota text will tell you how many boxes you were short of meeting the quota.
  • Conveyor item lists will start from the top rather than the middle to help with scrolling and positioning.
  • Level name preview text has been moved to be inside the preview box and above the level preview image.
  • Boxes have slightly less drag. They fly now! (Kinda)
  • When looking at level modifiers, the logo will not move to the centre.

Bugs

  • Sun rise and set colours were swapped.
  • Incorrect UV facing on the corner rollers.
  • Boxes interacted with some of the buildable outline objects.
  • When the cursor goes over a non-editable conveyor, when the editor is visible, the editor automatically cancelled.
  • Lighting on Airport 5 and 6 have been fixed. No more weird lines on the ramp.
  • Small and Large Chute spawn sounds weren't centred.
